Xero Loop

This is another great slip-on tying style for Xero Shoes.

The loop in the front gives you some fun decorative options.

Once you get the tension just right, you slip ’em on and off in a second. People use this tying style for everything from walking to running marathons.

First, a few tying tips and notes:

Tying the Lace knot:

This is the knot we most commonly use, especially with our 100% polyester laces.

The “Lace Bead”:

This is the smallest “knot” you can make for your Xero Shoes.

Tying a Figure-8 knot:

If you have our original laces with the nylon core, you’ll want to use this knot.

  1. Steven, it is so cool that you do these videos for us. It is obvious that you wear these, which to me is just such an endorsement. I loved how you and your wife came across on Shark Tank. You seem like grounded, down to earth people who believe in your product. I hope you make lots of money with Xero Shoes so you can keep bringing the world to our feet ;-). Just don’t make so much money that you stop doing the videos or start getting pedicures!

    1. VERY kind of you to say… but I got my first pedicure just before Shark Tank, and I think I may need another soon 😉

  2. Hi Les,

Many doctors recommend being barefoot as a treatment for bad backs… why? Because when you walk barefoot, you tend to use your glutes more (I won’t get into the biomechanics now), and using your glutes supports your back.

Our product developer, Dennis, had a great revelation when we did our first trade show together. He’d done HUNDREDS of trade shows in his 35 years in the footwear business, and was always looking for a shoe that let him make it through a day of standing on concrete floors without his back KILLING HIM at the end of the day.

Well, when he did his first show wearing Xero Shoes, he was amazed that his back felt fine (and the same thing has happened with the 2 other shows we’ve done since). One reason, aside from the glute activation thing I mentioned, is that when you actually USE your feet to balance that, too, takes load off the hips and back.

Do with that what you will 😉

  3. I have just made my shoes. I plan to wear them to work tomorrow. I do spend a lot of my day on my butt rather than my feet, but hope to see a difference in how my feet feel at the end of the day any way.
